Scientific Background
I started my research career at the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias (IAC, Canary Islands, Spain), where I obtained a Master's degree in Astrophysics under the supervision of Juan Betancort, with a Master's thesis framed within the field of theoretical cosmology.
Subsequently, I received a Ph.D. from the Instituto de Astrofisica de Andalucia (IAA), where I worked under the supervision of Francisco Prada. My thesis, entitled Galaxy Evolution with Large-Scale Galaxy Redshift Surveys, is a compendium of different works within the field of galaxy evolution. During my Ph.D., I enjoyed research visits of several months to UC Berkeley, Stanford and LBNL (Berkeley). After defending my thesis, I accepted a 1-year post-doctoral contract at the IAA, which was devoted to the BOSS survey. In August 2012, I moved to Utah, after accepting an offer from Adam Bolton.
